Appointments:

Many thanks for choosing Solas Dermatology and Laser Clinic for your skin, hair and nail care. Our aim is to provide high quality patient care in a courteous and efficient manner. The following is some information which you might find helpful:

Appointments: we run an appointment-only system for your convenience. This avoids your being unduly delayed in the waiting room. If you need to see any of us in The Solas Dermatology and Laser Clinic, please phone or drop in beforehand to make an appointment for a mutually convenient time. When making your appointment, please give the receptionist a brief description of your problems, so that she can suggest the most appropriate person for you to see, and how long your appointment should be.

For our appointment system to work effectively for everyone, please ensure that you are on time. Missed appointments will deny other sick patients an opportunity to visit the clinic. Once you have made your appointment, please try not to change it for a different time or day, as this puts undue pressure on the receptionist. If you must change your appointment, please give at least two working days notice.

Due to the nature of our work, appointments may be occasionally delayed because of an unforeseen emergency. If an appointment is running late, please bear with us. Remember it could be you some day that needs to be seen urgently or needs extra time.

Parking: Street parking discs are available from the vending machine on Ashe Street. We also recommend the multi-storey car park in Edward Street (pedestrian link to Ashe Street via Pound Lane), and the multi-storey carpark on Maine Street.

Fees for private patients: Fees are charged according to what procedures are being done, and the length of time it takes. Ask at reception for further details. All fees payable are tax allowable, and some are eligible for reimbursement through VHI, Quinn Healthcare, Hibernian Healthcare, Garda Medical Aid, ESB Medical Provident Fund and other work insurance schemes.

Anyone interested in the wide range of cosmetic procedures we have on offer may avail of a free consultation with our Dermatology Nurse. Please phone for an appointment explaining that you want to see the Dermatology Nurse for a free aesthetic consultation.

Referrals: If you are being referred by your doctor, pharmacist, beautician, chiropodist, etc please bring a referral note with a brief detail of your problem, your treatments to date and any relevant past medical history. It is also helpful to bring a list of your regular medication and to bring any tablets, creams, cosmetics or toiletries you are using to treat your skin. Please wear loose clothing, as Dr Buckley or his nurses may have to examine all of your skin. Intimate examinations are sometimes necessary and you are more than welcome to bring a family member or a friend with you during the consultation with Dr Buckley. Please remove all make-up before coming to see Dr Buckley.

Computerised medical record system: A safe, secure and efficient computerised medical records system exists in The Solas Dermatology and Laser Clinic. This ensures quicker access to your medical information and safer prescribing.

Comments and suggestions: If you have any comments or suggestions please tell us. If there are problems please let us know.Complete confidentiality is assured at all times. Ref: Z Drive: Solas Derm
